Top 10 must do’s in Aruba

When I was young my dad showed me the island through his eyes, he was born and raised in Aruba and he knew all the cool & secret spots. I’ve also spend countless days on my own, discovering and wandering around the island of Aruba looking for new spots or simply enjoying my favorite ones. I love sharing my passion for Aruba with other people so today I will share with you the 10 things you must do in Aruba! Enjoy and let me know which ones you’ve done or want to do 😛 1. Go snorkeling or diving Aruba has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, but simply don’t forget to check out what lays under the crystal clear waters of these beaches 😉 There are lots of snorkeling & boat tours on the island, but you can also just rent snorkeling gear and go explore for yourself. Just make sure the locations you visit are safe enough to snorkel. Here is a link to my favorite snorkeling spots on the island.   …

My 4 favorite smoothies

Hi loves! Today I want to share with you my 4 favorite smoothies and how you can make them at home 🙂 When ever I need an energy boost or when I’m feeling nauseous, I’ll blend up some fruits and make a smoothie. I’ll honestly make a smoothie whenever, pretty much obsessed with them 😛 1. Kale smoothie This is a super healthy smoothie, don’t be afraid of kale! This tropical smoothie tastes more like pineapple and banana, it just happens to be bright green. Ingredients ♥ 1 1/2 cups frozen pineapple chunks ♥ 1 cup chopped kale ♥ 1 banana, cut in chunks ♥ 1 cup milk (you can always add some more if needed) 2. Blueberry-Strawberry smoothie This is the smoothie I make when I have left over blueberries and strawberries that are a little bit overripe. Super easy to make and absolutely delicious! It also gives you an energy boost, so when I am studying, I’ll most likely make this smoothie 🙂 Ingredients ♥ 1 cup strawberries ♥ 1/2 cup blueberries ♥ 2/3 cup milk or yogurt …

Cheesecake & cat cuddles at Pebbles Kitty Cat Café

I have many cats back home in Aruba, but now that I am studying abroad I don’t really get to pet any cats at all 🙁 That’s why this weekend I went to visit the first cat café in Rotterdam, Pebbles Kitty Cat Café. Pebbles was started by Freddy, she has had cats her whole life and has a really big heart for them. This is also the reason why all the eight cats in the cat cafe are adopted from a local shelter. Pebbles Kitty Cat Cafe wants to encourage everyone who wants to adopt a cat, to adopt a cat from a local shelter (I completely agree!!). Almost all the cats that I own, I found on the streets or adopted from the Aruba animal shelter.  Some info about the cat café: At Pebbles you can enjoy the company of loving cats while treating yourself to some coffee and cake. There is an entree fee of € 3,50 sort of like a cat-tax to make sure the cats are well taken care of and are provided …

A weekend in Paris

I’ve always dreamt of traveling to Paris, the city of love.. what could of been more perfect than traveling to Paris on Christmas morning with my boyfriend? I was super excited! We woke up early and took the thalys from Schiphol airport to Paris Nord. This was my first time traveling by train and I highly recommend it. It takes a bit longer than by plane but its far more relaxing (I honestly get scared easily by turbulence in the plane). We arrived at our hotel, left our luggage behind and went off to explore. Cathédrale Notre-Dame Notre-Dame was absolutely beautiful, definitely a must do!  Outside of the Notre-Dame there are a bunch of pigeons, me wondering why, I went over to have a look and ended up having a bunch on top of me 😆 Next up was the Louvre, but we walked the wrong way for about 20 minutes before realizing we had to go the opposite way.. Good thing Paris is super stunning and walking is the best way to explore.   …

Hello Netherlands!

Hi guys, Hope you’re all doing well! Just want to update everyone.. I finished my school in Aruba and I moved to the Netherlands to study Media and Entertainment Management. I’ve been here for three months now and I live in the Hague, completely love it! I do miss Aruba’s beaches and my family but I admire how International the Hague feels. Also there are so many stores to shop!! I study Media and Entertainment Management at In Holland University in the Hague.  Before I came to the Netherlands I have honestly never been to the school before, but lucky me.. the school is amazing 😀 I truly feel that this study fits me, I get to organize events, make films, write commercial scripts, work with social media advertising, pitch for companies and so much more! PS. My study is International and because of this I meet students from all over the world, its so interesting to learn things from different cultures and places. Met people from Egypt, Greece, Italy, Africa, Germany and the list …

My 4 favorite snorkeling spots

If you are planning to come to Aruba, going snorkeling or diving is a must! There are so many beautiful underwater spots to explore. Here are some of my favorites, enjoy! 1: Tres trapi Describe this location in one word? Magical.  The water here is so clear that you can stand on the rocks and see fish swim below you in the water! The water here is also extremely calm, it’s the perfect spot to just grab your snorkeling gear and float around 😀 One more thing.. if you go a little further into the water, you can find up to 30 starfish!! They are so beautiful and they come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. TIP:  starfish don’t die immediately after you take them out of the water but its better to not take them out at all. Also if you do pick them up, never put them back upside down. Of course there are plenty of fish here too and sometimes you can even see sea turtles or squids 😀 Location: Tres Trapi …

Boardwalk hotel Aruba

What I absolutely LOVE about Aruba, is that there are always new things to explore. Last weekend I stumbled upon this breathtaking, historical gem close to Hadicurari beach. In this post I’ll be giving you a peek into the good life at Boardwalk hotel Aruba! The hotel The Boardwalk hotel Aruba is situated on an old historical coconut plantation (which you can notice once you’re there by all the coconut trees surrounding the hotel) and is locally owned by the twin sisters Kimberly and Stephanie. While I was there I got a chance to meet them, they are incredibly nice and make you feel welcome right away! The hotel has 14 casitas in island chic style and bright Caribbean colors. What I love about this is that every casita is completely unique. I checked into the couple casita and the moment I walked in I fell in love with this place. I could never put into words how absolutely blissful it was (I didn’t want to leave after the weekend!). If you ever get the chance to stay here… DO. It feels like …

Renaissance Island

Renaissance Island is a 40-acre tropical paradise, which is available to guests of the Renaissance hotel (But you can also buy a day pass). This is one of my favorite places in Aruba. I mainly come here to relax and guess what? Renaissance Island is home to beautiful pink flamingos!! (Definitely my favorite part). You can hang out with these flamingos on the flamingo beach or you could relax on the Iguana beach (you guessed it! here you can find friendly iguanas walking around) *TIP: bring some quarters so that you can buy them some food, and you will have some pink birdy  best friends in no time! There are plenty of things to do here on Renaissance Island, you can rent snorkeling gear and go for a swim, sun searcher floats, ocean kayaks, paddle boards, visit the spa cove or just simply lie on the beach with white sand between your toes. Whatever it is you do, I am sure you will love it here! The best time to go to Renaissance Island is before 10 am, …
